Dr. John Dempsey, President of Sandhills Community College, and Chuck Frock, CEO of First Health, present Nursing Professor Lynn Lambert with the Distinguished Professor Award at Sandhills Community College. The award is endowed by First Health and is presented annually to a faculty member from the Departments of Nursing or Health Sciences.

Professor Lambert brings humor into her classroom and tries to make difficult concepts easier for her students to comprehend. "I like to take something that is complex and break it down so that itis easy to understand and easily remembered," said Lambert. Sandhills and First Health share a mutually beneficial relationship, and Lambert finds it rewarding to see her former students employed in various positions at First Health.

Sandhills offers Associate Degrees in Nursing and Therapeutic Massage. Diplomas are offered in Practical Nursing and Therapeutic Massage, as well as a Certificate as a Nursing Assistant. Six Associate in Applied Science degrees and one diploma are offered in Health Sciences. The Continuing Education division at Sandhills also offers several Health Science certificates.
