Java with John
The SCC Alumni Association has created the Java with John event, a breakfast gathering with SCC president Dr. John Dempsey, SCC faculty and staff, and SCC graduates who all work in the same business or organization. This is an opportunity for the Alumni Association and the college to go out into the community and reconnect with alumni in their place of work, find out what they've been up to since graduating, and strengthen partnerships with employers in the area.
The first Java with John was held in November with St. Joseph of the Pines. An informal breakfast at their Belle Meade campus was attended by several SCC Alumni who work for St. Josephs, the CEO of St. Josephs, Ken Cormier, the Human Resources Director, Russell Pait (also an alumnus of SCC), Dr. John Dempsey, and several members of the Alumni Association. It was a very successful event and more will be planned.
