New Heutte Building for Landscape Gardening!
Thursday, March 20, 2008
The Landscape Gardening Program at Sandhills Community College facilities will soon undergo a major reconstruction. Heutte Hall will be demolished and replaced with a new 17,000 square foot two-story facility. The new building will be on the same footprint as the current building and be attached to the recently renovated glass greenhouses. The first floor will house offices, an open work area and living quarters for students fulfilling the program's co-op work requirement. The second floor will have a classroom, a design studio, offices and a reference library. A portion of the rooftop will be a Green Roof that will recapture rainwater and nourish plant material that will be grown on the roof.
